A mission plan turns a broad idea into a set of practical requirements. The team identifies what the satellite is meant to accomplish, what information it needs to collect, and how that information will reach people on the ground.
Those choices guide the spacecraft design. They shape the sensors or other equipment the satellite may need, the amount of power it will use, and the ways the team will communicate with it.
A useful plan also makes tradeoffs visible early. If a mission needs more power or a larger instrument, the team can account for that before it affects the structure, testing schedule, or launch preparations.
Carlmont Space lists its first launch in 2027. Details such as the launch date, spacecraft configuration, and mission plan have not been published on the public site.
